I am a multi-passionate artist, illustrator, designer and photographer.
An adventurous worldtraveller and a curious person to explore unknown grounds.
I am a dreamer, I care about the world and I am full of hope.
I am joyful and enthusiastic and sensitive and vulnerable, too.
I love yoga, loud music, chilling in a hammock and freshly baked bread with homemade strawberry jam.
I get inspired by the amazing nature, culture and people around me.
And I am a redhead.

I paint and draw because the process of it makes me happy. When I paint I relax. I forget to check the time. I meditate. I dance. I sing. I cry. I heal myself. I get motivated to be the best version of myself. I feel good. During the process of making art I change from within, getting more passionate, peaceful and compassionate. Through my own positive change, I change the world with my art. If people see this hidden process in the result, they want to connect with its positive vibe.
Life is a journey
Making art has always been my go-to happy place. I do believe I was born with a desire to create, so whether it was shell patterns on the beach, hours of mandala drawings, clay jewelry or paintings, I always had my hands in a creative project as a kid. Thankfully, my parents and teachers encouraged me in my creativity, so I grew up with the idea of “being good at art.”
As a little person, I was imaginative, active and full of joy. Nothing could stop my fascination for the small mysteries of life. I often told people “When I’m grown up I will marry a millionaire and become a painter.”
Luckily I realized sooner than later that I don’t need a million dollars to follow my dream and do what I love.
In High school I started with art lessons and flourished while experimenting with all kinds of techniques and material.

After high school the big question occurred: shall I go to art school yes or no? After one adventurous year of travelling I still wasn’t sure if I should become a (starving) artist. In the end, my fear of failure and the harsh conditions of art schools won. Retreat for my dreams. I dedicated myself to my second passion: learning. Within my studies ‘Educational design, management and media’ I loved to put all my creativity to discover new learning processes.
Do what you love and do it often.
As real passions are, you cannot deny them. Soon I found myself illustrating learning material, doing educational webdesign and making educational animations and children television programs.
With sparkling creativity, the urge to create not only digitally came up and I ended up in front of an empty canvas ready to be filled with vibrant colours. Redhead Art was created. First as a hobby, and now after some years, as a thriving artist.
For 3 years I lived in beautiful Suriname, South America. It was an inspiring, unknown world full of adventure and mystery. I dared to explore the unknown. Many paintings were created within this process, they reflect my interpretation of the world around me.
Travels and everyday adventures inspires my artwork. I make artwork for myself to express my creativity. Then take it from there, happy to make other happy with my art. I want others to see the beauty that surrounds us, too.
Make your dream happen
I've had a desire to make art most of my life, but it wasn't until 2016 that I made the big jump to my own art business. I found my creative wings and decided to just play in the paint, and now here I am on this magical journey to become a full-time artist.
